About Franchise:
Sunrsiers Hyderabad replaced the Deccan Chargers in 2012. The team was announced in Chennai on 18 December 2012 and owned by Sun TV Network who won the bid of 850.5 million per year approx $15.9 million for a five year period. Sun TV Network Limited, headquartered in Chennai, is one of the india's largest television network with 32 TV channels and 45 FM radio stations.
The team jersey was displayed on 8 March 2013, and the team anthem composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar was released on 12 March 2013. Their logo was displayed on 20 December with the team management announcement lead by Kris Srikkanth, Tom Moody and VVS Laxma.
2013 Season Performance:
Sunrisers Hyderabad first played in 2013 season captained by Kumar Sangakkara in 9 matches while Cameron White captained in 8 matches including eliminator match which they lost. They played their eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals but lost by 4 wickets on 22 May 2013. They played all matches at home in Hyderabad.
2014 Season Performance:
Due to the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections the season was partially held outside India and 20 matches played in UAE. Dhawan captained in 10 matches, while Sammy captained remaining 4 matches. The team finished with 6th position. They played total of 14 matches with 6 wins and 8 losses.
2015 Season Performance:
Their performance is same as in 2014. They finished with 6th position. They won 7 and lost 8 matches and also failed to reach Play-offs. They played their first 3 matches at Visakhapatnam and 4 matches at Hyderabad.
